The following recommendations assume no claims or convictions unless otherwise stated. For recommendations for people with
claims, convictions or both, check further down the listings. Young Drivers (17-25) Young
drivers get penalised for not only their age but for their preference for fast and/or powerful cars. You should settle for
a car below group 8 and at least 5 years old to avoid high premiums. This will give you a chance to build up some NCB and
put some money away for a really special car when you're a bit older. Not much fun in the short term, but a least you'll
be on the road while your mates are catching the bus. Our Recommendations Gladiator

Lady Drivers You ladies can get some really good deals, especially
if you tell your male partners to keep their paws off your car. Quite a few insurance companies will give ladies a substanial
discount for not having a male driver on the policy. Our Recommendations are: Diamond
www.diamond.uk.com Gladitor Insurance www.gladiator.co.uk Drivers (25-35)
This is the time to ask about NCB protection if you don't have it already. For a small additional premium you can prevent
the loss of 2 years NCB in the event of a fault claim. Remember, if your car is stolen, this is still classified as a fault
claim, and you will lose your bonus if not protected. Our Recommended Insurers are:
Admiral Insurance www.admiral.co.uk Bell Direct www.belldirect.uk.com Elephant www.elephant.co.uk
Drivers 35+ This is the time you can afford that sports job you wish you had
when you were 18. With the benefit of both NCB discount and age discount, you can get some really good deals.
Our Recommended Insurers are: Elephant www.elephant.co.uk Churchill www.churchill.co.uk
Modified Cars Insurers deal with modifications in different ways. They will
either not cover the car at all, cover the car but not the modifications, or cover the car and modifications at a higher premium
or excess. Our Recommended Insurers are: Elephant www.elephant.co.uk Gladiator insurance
www.gladiator.co.uk Import Cars/Left-Hand Drive Of the insurers that cover imported
cars, 'grey'imports and left-hand drive cars, the majority will charge a premium over and above that of the equivalent UK
car. You should be aware that courtesy cars are not usually offered on policies with imported vehicles. Our
Recommended Insurers are: Elephant www.elephant.co.uk Privilege www.privilege.co.uk Gladiator
www.gladiator.co.uk Executive and Sports Cars Most insurance companies will cover these
cars because they attract such high premiums. It may well be worth your while to ask your dealer to recommend an insurance
company for you. However, you can still get some good deals from the general private car insurance market. Our
Recommended Insurers are: Elephant.co.uk Vintage or Vetran Cars The chances are
that due to the age and comparatively high value, most insurers will only cover these cars on Third Party only cover. You
would be better getting a recommendation from the person you bought the vehicle from or speak to the many car clubs for these
specialist vehicles. For listings of specialist clubs, check the web site at: http://www.classicmotor.co.uk/cmmlinks.htm
or see our Links page. Claims and/or Convictions If you have had a claim or conviction since you
took out your last insurance, the chances are that your renewal quote with that company will be considerably higher. Don't
despair, there are several companies out there that deal with high risk or non-standard insurance, and you can still get some
relatively good deals. Our Recommended Insurers are: Gladiator www.gladiator.co.uk
Non-UK Residents/Licences/NCB If you have moved to the UK and are looking for insurance
you may encounter some problems. If you are from an EEC country, this won't be a major problem but you will have to get your
documents translated to English at your own cost. Some insurance companies will cover temporary residents such
as students and diplomats but you need to make sure that any NCB you do have will be acceptable. If you have not been born
in the UK and are now resident, the insurer may have a minimum residency period before they will cover you. Our
Recommended Insurers are: Elephant www.elephant.co.uk Gladiator Insurance www.gladiator.co.uk Norwich
